Bike Commute
In honor of last weeks bike to work week I did an early morning panorama of the back trail to Fraser from Winter Park. I found a great view of both towns while hiking along the ridge this afternoon. I'm going tonight to take a pano of that.

Fraser River Trail VR Tour
Here's a link to a virtual tour I did of the Fraser River Trail. FRASER RIVER TRAIL LINK <-- If you click here you will view the movie in your web browser, if you save right click or ctrl+click on a mac and "save link as" you can download it. I recommend doing this because when you open the file it will play fullscreen.
The movie is 15megs since I added U2 - a beautiful day to play as the background music.
[Click on the photo above to enlarge the 360 degree panorama I took to do the video.]

Grand County Rain!
These clouds finally darkened and rained yesterday evening. Yes, this was the first rain of Winter Park this spring. All of our rain showers have been the frozen white stuff until now. As they say Spring snow melt brings Summer flowers; or something corny like that.

Devil's Thumb Sunrise
Couldn't sleep this morning for some reason. Woke up at 6 am and sunrise is at 619, so I headed to the car to see if I could get some morning shots. I took a bunch of the typical mountain peaks getting hit with the first few rays, but the one that turned out the best was the one taken just as the sun was about to crest the continental divide over Devil's Thumb.
I also passed Crazy's vacation home and snapped a photo of his sign out front.

SAN JUAN BOMB - Fly Fishing the Colorado River
Spent some time on the water today just outside of Hot Sulpher Springs. Using a San Juan worm I was able to connect with over a dozen trout in 2 hours. The water is still quite fast and murky due to the snow melt,
but I have found a spot on the Colorado River where I know I can go and catch fish realitively easily. My largest was a strong 17 inch brown, that I reluctently admit struck the fly as I was getting ready to cast again. Taking photos while fishing although tricky, is definately worth it after looking at what I got today.

Dirtbag Diaries
If you haven't heard of THE DIRTBAG DIARIES I encourage you to check it out. A great podcast put on by Fitz Cahill, filled with stories of outdoor adventures and the characters who pursue them. Welcome to the Dirtbag Diaries is a short introduction to give you a taste of what its all about. I especially enjoy his podcasts entitled HELP Wanted and 1000 words. The first one on what may have been the worlds most perfect job and the second on a photographers ability to capture people in the outdoors. If you have itunes you can subscribe below.

It's Official!
Most people probably won't understand, and it may not be epic. But, for all those transplants out there or the ones who dream of it...you do.
[Notice the tie-dye poking out love]
Thanks to everyone who sent me birthday wishes. Have a happy weekend.

Roasted and Salted?
You Decide. This guy was doing the first flatiron east face direct route just to the right of us yesterday. I was nervous for him.

Two different approaches. Both amazing.
